multiple images with links, one unit of motion?

Looking for a way to fire links from each individual image in a horizontal banner.  I currently have all images glued together for the mockup but am slicing them up for the real version (imagemap possibility?).  How can I have multiple images move together with different links attached to each one? I love the way this applet behaves, the smoothness and ability to start in different positions, stop on mouseover, grab and drag, don't use the step but the omnidirectional aspect is beautiful. in near future I will be add possibility to have multi URL for different image position.

Some like this:
